Sketching Basics Class
- Each module will cover a set of techniques and will end in creating an artwork combining these techniques. I have broken down each module in a few classes so we can focus on one or two techniques.
- This outline is flexible. I will match it to the student’s pace and can include other things as and when needed.
- Each 1 hour class will include teaching, demonstration and exploration.

MODULE 1 (5 classes)
Understand and experiment with basics of pencil sketching
1.1 Learning about different pencils and lines, shading and values
1.2 contours/outlines: basic and complex shapes
1.3 color theory basics: colored pencils and paint
1.4 textures and shading with them
1.5 combining all the learnings in previous classes to create a simple artwork.

MODULE 2 (10 classes)
Explore drawing complex objects from observation. Topics in this module will need more practice hence 2 classes are allotted to each topic
2.1 and 2.2 Still Life Drawing
2.3 and 2.4 Nature Drawing -plants and flowers using graphite and colored pencils
2.5 and 2.6 . Nature Drawing - animals and birds using graphite and colored pencils
2.7 and 2.8 Human Figures and details
2.9 and 2.10 Focus on one or two topics from previous modules once again to develop one or two final artworks.
MODULE 3 (10 classes)
Exploring Perspective drawing and combining elements learnt in the past modules to create an artwork. Some topics in this module will need more practice hence 2 classes are allotted to each topic
3.1 Introduction to one-point and two-point perspective.
3.2 and 3.3 Drawing and shading simple scenes using perspective techniques.
3.4 Composition. Learning and experimenting
3.5 and 3.6 Exploring different materials like pens, markers, crayons, charcoal, etc
3.7 and 3.8 Working on an idea or topic to make a final artwork (practicing elements and objects, compositions, etc)
3.9 and 3.10: Working on the final artwork

Fees: $45 per 1 hour class (Payable while booking each class; you can also pay by purchasing the whole Module in advance )
If you book a whole module, it will also include:
- a sketchbook and a set of pencils, eraser and sharpener for the student to practice and keep with them
- Studio's art materials for use during the class (including drawing pad, paints, brushes, colored pencils, different kinds of paper, etc)
- We can work out a weekly time for the class. Fees will not be charged for a missed class. I understand that things can change and we might need a rescheduling
